Hello my name is Kathryn Shilling. I own and operate "Kathy's Kid's Clubhouse". Previously, from March 2005 to February 2010, I worked for the Denton Police Department as a school crossingguard. Now I have become a registerd home childcare provider. I have been married for over 15 years now and we have 4 children (17,14,11 and 2). We all love animals and have cats that stay indoors and dogs that are both inside and outside animals. All animals are up to date on their shots. I am certified in Infant, Child and Adult CPR and first aid. Every year I must have 20 plus hours of childcare training. Recently I have had training in the following: Nutrition, Supporting Children's Social and Emotional Development and Transporting Children Safely in Child Care, just to name a couple. I am a member of Denton Childcare Association. Also, my husband and I are Sunday school teachers to 2 year olds.
My goal is to make sure that all parents have peace of mind that your child is being properly cared for while you are at work or away. I will do my very best to take care of your child and show them that they are very important and loved. Your child's day will be filled with many fun activities that will stimulate him/her not only socially, but intellectually, emotionally, and physically as well. Through play, your child will learn the importance of cooperation and sharing. They will also learn social behavior and how to get along with others. They will learn how to understand their feelings, gain self confidence, respect for others and themselves. All these things that will stay with them for a lifetime. I will provide a non-smoking, safe and attractive learning enviroment where children can feel comfortable playing, resting, eating(USDA food program) and learning. Activites are provided that are developentally appropriate, stimulating and fun for each child. Basic shapes, numbers, colors and sign language will be introduced.An ample supply of toys, books, materials and equipment are available for the children to use. Children will spend time outdoors when weather permits. Occasionally we will also go on field trips outside of the home.
